Botanical Tour of Vidanta

The property at Vidanta is not only extensive but it’s beautiful with lots of variety in the plantings. I took a nature walk this week with the Joy Squad (Vidanta staff who run the various activities such as Spanish classes, Water aerobics, Beach volleyball etc.). There are boardwalks around the property to get from various hotels to and from the restaurants, pools, beach plus lots of lagoons and lakes. We also saw hummingbirds enjoying the plants and iguanas in the trees.

Heliconia. I saw a reference to Lobster claws as a common name.
Grasses by the lake
Ginger rojo
This has the best name, Oreja de Burro (Donkey ear)
Palma Estrella
Ave de Paraiso (Bird of Paradise)
The staff remove the ripe coconut which prevents them falling on anyone, and they use them in the restaurants
