We are really enjoying our meals here. Last night we walked down to La Isla, our favourite restaurant in Nuevo Vallarta. It is small with only 10 tables so we made a reservation, but there was no need. We were actually concerned as for a while we were the only ones there and we want this restaurant to survive and thrive. However, after a while more people came and although not full, they had a slow steady business.
The restaurant is charming with a palapa roof, walls made from reclaimed pallets, decorated with shrubbery and plants, and a new addition this year two macaws in a large cage. The kitchen is very small and we can watch the action as they prepare everything fresh to order. The wait staff is attentive and amusing, especially when he said he would be back in a Mexican minute to take our order, so we decided it was best to order immediately rather than let hin go.
Having learned our lesson at the Riviera Grill, we resisted ordering guacamole and tortilla soup before our main course as we knew we would not be able to finish it all. Our resistance didn’t last long though, and we ended up with a bowl of their delicious guacamole to start. There were so many appealing items on the dinner menu that we all three ordered different dishes, which is unusual for us. And the best thing is we were all very happy with our choices!

Hi Wendy, the food looks delicious. Great to see you out and about. Enjoy my visits with your blog. Keep it up Hugs, Rita
